Tsukaguchi – Itami, Japan

Seventeen years ago we were approached by a visionary Japanese developer to design, as he put it, the finest senior communities possible, with buildings that need to last a minimum of 100 years.

This complex, just outside Osaka, is our largest senior community to date, and has garnered international attention and awards. Conceived in three distinct towers, the project is unified around a central courtyard with clear, axial relationships and a small town plan. The development of lush landscape and interior design has been a key element in the 600-unit project’s success.
