Cumberland – San Francisco, CA

“An architect and a designer create a town house that is a serene oasis filled with natural light and a subtle range of warm tones...”
—Reed Wright, Western Interiors

Dolores Heights is one of San Francisco’s best kept secrets, a small hill of dead end streets and mixed architectural styles. Designed on a steeply down-sloping lot in Dolores Heights, this four story residence is a study in elegant understatement and restraint.

Entry to the home is in the middle of the house, atypical of San Francisco generally. A central stair integrates the four stories, with bedrooms on the lower garden, and living spaces on the upper floor.  While clearly contemporary in expression, the proportions and detailing are comfortable around the area’s Victorians and other mixes of styles and expressions.
